My journey in IT didn’t start in school, but shortly afterwards when a friend recommended I give Linux a try. I really liked the idea of free, open source software. A few years later, I enrolled in the VDAB Java Enterprise Developer course and completed it successfully. I was given the opportunity to do an internship at HP, and for the next 7 years I worked as an HP Java Consultant for the Flemish Goverment. Although this work was often rewarding, I was curious about what kind of work there was in the private sector. I am sure that I have found a unique and interesting challenge here at UBench.
In my spare time, I enjoy learning other programming languages, older ones like Lisp or C, as well as newer ones like Groovy or Kotlin. And more Linux of course, one can never know too much Linux. After all that, I like to unwind with simple activities like walking, reading and listening to music.
